Job description

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops, and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://www.cragenomica.es).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Head of Projects and International Affairs.

The Head of Projects and International Affairs unit will work under the supervision of the Director.

His/her main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and supervise National and International projects unit, the team members, involving in periodic meetings and support them in daily tasks.
  • Participate in the search for funding for research activity, including the establishment of alliances and the search for new funding opportunities at national/international level.
  • Direct support to the management of the research groups
  • Leading new projects and activities for international funds for institutional programs at CRAG.
  • Lead and manage European, national, and regional proposals (ERC, Horizon Europe, Severo Ochoa, Plan Nacional, …)
  • Direction and coordination of the proposals with the participants and entities involved.
  • Participate in the representation and promotion of the Centre.
  • Advising researchers on applications for publicly or privately funded R&D projects, acting as a liaison with funding bodies

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in experimental sciences, engineering, or life sciences
  • Masters in science and innovation management will be a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar unit working in a similar position in research institution
  • Experience leading team / middle management will be positively valued
  • Full command in English and Spanish

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position (Specific Replacement Rate for the stabilization of temporary work, requested by the Administration of the Generalitat based on additional provision 4a of Royal Decree Law 32/2021, of December 28 and authorized by the Ministry of Finance and Civil Service on July 22, 2022)
  • Working day: Full 37.5 hours/week.
  • Remuneration: depending on the experience and qualifications provided and framed within the salary structure of CRAG.
  • Planned date of incorporation: May 2023
  • Facilities for balance work and personal life through teleworking and flexible working hours, 22 days of holidays, 9 free days of personal matters; intensive working hours on summer and Fridays.
