Job description

ABOUT CRAG:

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://biennialreport2016-2017.cragenomica.es/). 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Technician to join the HR Area.

His/her main responsibilities will include:

•             Management and monitoring of the hiring and documentation of personnel: contracts, extensions, payroll review and accounting, verification of Social Security and Personal Income Tax, quarterly and annual. As well as preparation and management of educational cooperation agreements with universities.

•             Preparation of information for indicators and maintenance of data from the center's database and incidents related to presence control.

•             Economic justification of HR grants and follow-up of the sending of the necessary reports in accordance with the established deadlines. As well as preparation of the requirements that may arise.

•             Support in personnel selection processes.

•             Respond to requests for information from staff, as well as inform and assist in the preparation of the necessary procedures for hiring foreign personnel to obtain the corresponding visa and requests and / or renewals of work authorizations before the office of foreigners or the Generalitat.

•             Collaborate in Occupational Risk Prevention.

•             Support in the management of training activities.

•             Participate in projects and commitments in the area such as HRS4R.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational requirements:

•             Degree in Labor Relations or similar, knowledge of Accounting would be valuable.

•             Native in English or equivalent (Proficiency level)

•             Training in Occupational Risk Prevention and Master in HR will be valued

Skills:

•             Ability to lead teams with people from different backgrounds and to work in a collaborative environment.

•             Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within an international context

•             Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks.

•             Proactive

Experience:

At least 4 years of experience in the described functions in an international environment with more than 200 people, especially valuable in a CERCA research center.

Knowledge of payroll calculation and personnel administration.

Advanced knowledge of Excel.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Contract Duration: Permanent position

Hours/week: Full time
