Job description

ABOUT CRAG:

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (http://biennialreport2018-2019.cragenomica.es/).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our team is searching for technical support in tasks related with current projects of the Plant Virus group, in particular with the project PID2019-105692RB-100 "Analysis of multiple viral infections in sweet potato and other plants: interpretation and potential uses". Activities will include the management of different pathosystems (viruses, host plants, and insect vectors) and molecular methods for their study.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational requirements: Grade in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or similar.

Skills: Motivation for research activities. Capacity for team work. Fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge in informatics.

Experience: Previous training in Molecular Biology and Plant Sciences, Phytopathology, Entomology and Virology will be appreciated.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Contract Duration: 3 months

Hours/week: 37.5
