Job description

ABOUT CRAG:

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://biennialreport2016-2017.cragenomica.es/).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The future member of the team will be in charge of performing regular tasks on a plant molecular biology laboratory, such as genotyping, cloning, seeds and plant management, analysis of expression of RNA. She/He will carry out infections with a range of pathogens (virus, Bacteria, Fungi…) and will perform histological assays to determine routes of infection.

All the tasks are included in the project’s framework RTI2018-097262-B-I00 with title: “Escalado de la reprogramación del desarrollo y defensa del nivel celular al de órgano completo durante patogénesis”

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational requirements: Graduate in life sciences or Lab Technician Degree

Skills: Organized, experienced with techniques related to plant molecular biology. Experience with plant pathogens and microscopy.

Experience: at least 1 year in an equivalent position

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Contract Duration: 12 months

Hours/week: Full time.
