Job description

The doctoral fellowship programme INPhINIT “la Caixa” is devoted to attracting talented Early-Stage Researchers —of any nationality— who wish to pursue their PhD studies in Spanish or Portuguese territory.

The doctoral INPhINIT fellowships offer a highly competitive salary and complementary opportunities for training on transferrable skills through annual training sessions, temporary stays in industry, incentives upon completion of the thesis, among other elements that make these fellowships some of the most attractive and complete in Europe.

This programme is divided into two different frames:

  • Doctorate INPhINITIncoming: 35 PhD fellowships for researchers willing to carry out their PhD project in research centres accredited with the Spanish Seal of Excellence Severo Ochoa –including CRAG–, María de Maeztu or Health Institute Carlos III and Portuguese units accredited as “excellent” according to the evaluation of the Fundação de Ciência e Tecnologia.

CRAG offers 9 PhD research projects for developing a PhD under the INPhINIT ”la Caixa” INCOMING Doctoral Fellowship Programme. These projects fall into different disciplines such as Plant and Animal biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genomics and Proteomics or Bioinformatics.You can check them at this link and at https://hosts.lacaixafellowships.org/finder

For the Incoming modality, candidates must not have resided or have carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.

  • Doctorate INPhINIT Retaining: 30 PhD fellowships for researchers willing to carry out their PhD project in any research domain and in any university or research centre in Spain or Portugal, including CRAG.

For the Retaining modality, candidates must have resided or have carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.

Doctoral INPhINIT fellows enjoy a 3-year contract under the Spanish or Portuguese labour legislation in force, respecting health and safety, and social security provisions in a stimulating research training environment, with access to appropriate equipment, facilities and opportunities.

Furthermore, the INPhINIT fellows at CRAG will also enjoy the CRAG PhD programme.
