Job description

ABOUT CRAG:

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://biennialreport2016-2017.cragenomica.es/).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postdoc Researcher to be part of the group of Rosaceae Genetics and Genomics under the supervision of Dr. Aranzana.

The candidate will be in charge of the analysis of Bi-sulfite and whole-genome DNA sequence data in Rosaceae fruit tree species, particularly in apple.

The tasks are included within the framework of the project “INVITE (SEP-210522318): INnovations in plant VarIety Testing in Europe to foster the introduction of new varieties better adapted to varying biotic and abiotic conditions and to more sustainable crop management practices”.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational requirements: Master degree and/or PhD in Bioinformatics. PhD required.

Skills: Bioinformatics skills, including knowledge in R, Phyton and Perl programming languages; Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis (RNA-seq, DNA-seq and BS-seq). Wet lab skills will be highly valued.

Experience: Contrasted experience in NGS data analysis. Knowledge on Rosaceae Species will be highly valued.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Contract Duration: 1 year, extensible to 2

Hours/week: 37.5h
