ABOUT CRAG:
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://www.cragenomica.es/sites/default/files/2022-07/crag-summary-2020-2021_0.pdf ).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postdoc Researcher to be part of the group Bacterial pathogens and plant cell death.
The candidate will be in charge of leading a project to characterize a family of proteases in Arabidopsis. This will involve:
- Techniques: cloning, protein expression and protein purification.
- Student supervision.
- Data analysis and manuscript writing.
The tasks are included within the framework of the project "DESCIFRANDO LA INTERACCIÓN MOLECULAR ENTRE BACTERIAS PATÓGENAS Y PLANTAS" with reference code PID2022-136922NB-I00 financed by MICIU/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033, “ERDF A way of making Europe”
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements:
- PhD in plant molecular genetics
- Broad knowledge in plant stress signaling and condensate biology.
- Capacity to lead a project, supervise students and report results to a specialized and non-specialized audience.
Skills:
- Wet lab plant molecular biology techniques.
- Leadership
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Capacity to integrate in a multidisciplinary team
Experience:
- Cloning
- Protein expression
- Protein purification
- Previous experience in student supervision
- Complex data analysis
- Previous experience in student supervision
