ABOUT CRAG:
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://www.cragenomica.es/sites/default/files/2022-07/crag-summary-2020-2021_0.pdf ).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postdoc Researcher to be part of the group RNA Biology.
The candidate will be in charge of research activities in the following subjects: i) understanding the molecular and physiological mechanisms involved in phosphate-induced susceptibility to pathogen infection; ii) Transcriptome analysis of Pi-treated rice plants; iii) Hormonal modulation of rice immunity under phosphate stress conditions; iv) Metagenomic analysis of microbial communities in rice tissues.
These tasks are included within the project “Impact of phosphorus nutrition on plant immunity and its role in the regulation of the rice microbiome” REFERENCE PID2021‐128825OB‐I00 Funded by MICIU/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033, “ERDF A way of making Europe”
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Genetics
Master in Plant Biology, Genomics and Biotechnology
Ph. D degree in Plant Biology and Biotechnology.
Skills:
Plant Molecular Biology, Phytopathology, Transcriptome analysis, Plant Physiology, Plant histology
Experience: Plant-microbe interactions and crop protection. Experience in rice research
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Contract Duration: until 31/8/2025
Hours/week: full time
