The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a technician to be part of the group working on ‘Omics approaches to understand flower developmental programs and gene regulatory networks’.

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data.

Responsibilities:

-  Preparing material, reagents and solutions for the activity: Beta-estradiol induced overexpression of ZFP3 and Z5G in Arabidopsis thaliana

-  CRISPR-Cas9 mediated knock-out of Zinc Finger Protein coding genes: crossing of single mutant plants and measurement of flowering phenology parameters

- Permanent laboratory activities such as PCR-genotyping, growing plants in selective media, sowing of Arabidopsis seeds, and taking care of plants in greenhouses and walk-in chambers.

The tasks are included within the framework of the "Genomic, proteomic and genetic analyses of the Arabidopsis flower development gene regulatory network" BFU2014- 58289-P.
