Job description

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a technician to be part of the group working on circadian regulation of non-coding RNA. This contract will be funded by the BIO2015-72161-EXP grant.

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the transgenic lines available in the laboratory as well as perform standard tissue culture work. He/she will also be involved in the set up of circadian experiments, evaluation of chromatin modifications and analysis of gene expression.

 The candidate selected should also have experience in setting up of drought and salinity stress experiments. In addition the candidate should be able to set up circadian experiments under different temperatures.

 Requirements:

Educational Requirements: Degree in biology or related field.

Required Skills: Knowledge of circadian experiment set up, knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques. Expertise on chromatin modifications and evaluation on non-coding RNA expression would be an advantage. Knowledge of abiotic stress set-up experiments (drought, salinity and temperature) would also be a plus.
